Pavel studied singing in Brno, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) while being a member of the Janáèek Opera Chorus of The National Theatre of Brno and later of the Czech Philharmonic Chorus of Brno. His tenor is well suited for bel canto singing and he studied this technique with Giancarlo Ruggieri and later with Paolo de Napoli.

He made his home in Bristol, England in 2004. Since then he sang solo parts in Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Rachmaninov’s Vespers, Orff’s Carmina Burana in Colston Hall, Bristol and Verdi’s Requiem under Adrian Partington and others.

Pavel has sung with some of the major Choral Societies in the south-west England, including the Bristol Choral Society as well as the BBC National Chorus of Wales

In 2007, Pavel joined the English Voices under Tim Brown, and with the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, Paris, toured a number of European venues with Rossini’s Tancredi conducted by René Jacobs

He also teaches bel canto singing and has composed a number of works mainly for solo tenor.

Future plans include singing with various Choral Societies as well as solo tenor parts.
