Pavel studied singing in Brno,
Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) while being a member of the
Janáèek Opera
Chorus of The National Theatre of Brno and later of the Czech Philharmonic
Chorus of Brno.
His tenor is well suited for bel canto singing and he studied this technique
with Giancarlo Ruggieri and later with Paolo de Napoli.
He made
his home in Bristol, England in 2004. Since then he sang solo parts in
Rossini’s Stabat Mater,
Rachmaninov’s Vespers, Orff’s Carmina Burana in Colston Hall, Bristol
and
Verdi’s Requiem under Adrian Partington
and others.
Pavel has sung with some of the major Choral
Societies in the south-west England, including the
Bristol Choral Society as well as the BBC
National Chorus of Wales
In 2007, Pavel joined the English Voices under
Tim Brown,
and with the
Orchestre des
Champs-Élysées,
Paris,
toured a number of European venues with Rossini’s Tancredi conducted by René
Jacobs
He
also teaches bel canto singing and has composed a number of works mainly for
solo tenor.
Future plans include
singing with various Choral Societies as well as solo tenor parts.
